Getting the life sucked out of you in retail employment, needs to be combated by jolly excursions. I am trying to make time for these kind of adventures. Even if it is just once a month. But not only that I need to broaden my horizons and get inspirations for my own projects.

So a few days ago we went to Farfield Mill to be precise. I have always admired the ingenuity of water mills. Something simple and so effective. Wind mills come to that are similar. But there is something, well to me, that is soothing about it. The water passing by and the creak of the wheel. Although in this case the wheel was replaced with a water jet. I have long been interested in mechanical history. But I digress.

Slow Start

Slow Beginnings

I have had a somewhat slow week. As in getting started on my artistic project as life is getting in the way at the moment. Although that is never going to be a good excuse to oneself. As we know, time is the one thing that cannot be extended, saved or replaced. I think that this is really bound up with procrastination. Which is something I excel at.

Time Shift

I have been thinking about a project that I have attempted a few times before, but never managed to carry out. I was a bit ambitious previously. However, I have tempered my expectations a bit. So what is this project? Something I have thought that applies to many things in life. But seldom gets done. The idea is to take one photo from a certain place. A local park that I walk in on an almost on a daily basis. To see the transition throughout the course of a year. I wrestle with the idea that starting on the first day of the year would be going good starting point. However, I kind of feel like I want to start it now. Not put it off. Never start it or procrastinate so much it never gets done.

Hello World

Hello World. Well I thought I would start this off in the traditional computer way of saying “Hello World”, as that is what this really is. Nobody maybe listening, but I am hurling out my virtual message in a bottle! To see if anything comes back. But I wanted to start a place that I could place things that interest me, projects that come along, and anything else that doesn’t fit elsewhere. I know that social media is the place to show off ones progress, or ideas. But sometimes it just isn’t the right place. For a fact, one can’t ramble on with say 500 characters. Sometimes I feel that it’s a real scatter gun approach and that the website is like a cozy sofa. Drawing in the reader, so that they can read in a calm and relaxing environment. I know I am not the best example of a good social media-or. Maybe I just made up a word. But yes, I struggle with the endless stream of information.
